Brownwood Middle School.
The exercise will be an active threat-based scenario. The wide-ranging Emergency Response Drill will be a large, coordinated training exercise within the school district. An emergency scenario will be played out in real-time, utilizing school district personnel, volunteers, local law enforcement, emergency response personnel, and Hendrick Medical Center employees. Some roadways near the campus will be barricaded off and there will be many emergency vehicles at and near the school campuses during the exercise. We appreciate our local law enforcement agencies and the emergency response personnel involved in the planning and coordination of this detailed exercise. Our top priority remains the safety and security of our students and staff. Valedictorian and Salutatorian Among Students Honored at 2025 BHS Academic Awards Ceremony5/27/2025

Brownwood ISD has released the following Board Report summarizing the events from the recent Board of Trustees meeting held on May 19, 2025
Brownwood High School (BHS) held a Scholarship Awards program on Wednesday, May 21, in the Dorothy McIntosh Fine Arts Auditorium. This year, the scholarship program expanded significantly with the support of our generous community allowing for the distribution of $102,382.00 in scholarship funds to committed BHS seniors actively pursuing their educational and career objectives.
Photos from the event can be viewed at https://bwdisd.org/bhssch25. A list of the scholarship recipients is included below. The Brownwood ISD Spotlight recognizes members of our faculty and staff that go the extra mile to ensure excellence in education for all our students. We are extremely proud of our teachers and support personnel, and it is a pleasure to recognize members of our team for the jobs they do. It is important to note that these Spotlight recipients are chosen from peer nominations. To be nominated by one's co-workers is the highest of compliments, because those closest to you can see what is truly being done to positively impact students. Thank you to Jacobs Family Pharmacy for sponsoring this monthly spotlight through a partnership with the Brownwood Education Foundation! Congratulations to Leslie Warren and Mary Zamarripa, our May 2025 Spotlight honorees. Brownwood High School (BHS) HOSA students competed at the State Leadership Conference in Round Rock on April 29-May 1. “We took a great group of students that had worked hard throughout the year,” said Health Science teacher Annalyn Deen. “The hard work paid off each night we were there. At the opening session, we had three seniors recognized with scholarships from Texas HOSA.” BHS seniors Isaiah Rosas, Kamila Ramos, and Miranda Northcutt received scholarships.
“The second day of competition was busy and ended in the Recognition session,” noted Deen. “This was one of our biggest nights as we had five students qualify for the International Leadership Conference.” Kyle Recolizado (HOSA Happenings), Hannah Deen (Organizational Leadership), Kamila Ramos (Health Care Issues), Xavier Martinez (Health Care Issues), and Jaleah Brew (Health Care Issues) qualified for the International Leadership Conference in their respective categories. Kyle Recolizado also placed in the top five in the state in his category. “The third night of competition, we learned that Kyle placed fourth in the state in Pharmacy Science,” added Deen. “Overall we have had a great year with tremendous success.” The HOSA International Leadership Conference will be held June 18-21 in Nashville, Tennessee. Brownwood Independent School District (BISD) is thrilled to announce a celebratory parade for the 2025 Brownwood Lady Lions Track and Field Team, who made history by winning the UIL Class 4A State Championship. This marks the first-ever state title for the Lady Lions program and the first for any Brownwood High School team since 1986.
The community is invited to join us in honoring our State Champions on Monday, May 19, 2025. The team will board a bus at 6:00 PM in front of Brownwood High School (BHS) and proceed along a short parade route to the BISD Central Support Center. The parade route will begin at the BHS circle drive, turn left onto Slayden St., left onto 10th St., left onto Good Shepherd Dr., right onto Greenway St., and conclude at the BISD Central Support Center parking lot.
